Rama pierces seven tress through one arrow
from Hoysaleswara temple, Halebidu

The monkey king Vali could only be killed by the person who pierces 7 trees with one single arrow, so, when Lord Rama agreed to kill Vali, Sugriva challenged Rama to prove whether he truly was the one destined to end his brother's (Vali) life.

  1. Very good information. We know some, if not all of these stories. But they register more meaningfully when you see them through such carvings and sculptures. Very good attempt to bring back Ramayana through carvings. Wishing you all the best Niyati. I will keep an eye out for all these stories when I visit these temples. This is like a ready reckoner. Well done!
